Our History

Growing up in my village in Tororo district , my parents tilled large fertile soils to raise our school fees and put food on the table. As years passed , starvation, sickness leading to death in most families become rampant in my village. Together with a couple of friends we decided to form Kango Pride Farmers ltd to tackle the above mentioned challenges by providing production financing , market linkages ,extension services and trainings in agronomic practices .
Kango Pride Farmers Ltd is a private limited company that started operations in 2017, incorporated in Uganda on 27th June 2022. The company aims at developing financing model that resonates well with women and youth who are based at the Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP). Primary emphasis is put on rural women and youth groups who are into agriculture and small businesses with the aim of creating jobs, income sustainability, food security and environmental sustainability .These women and youth major into ground nuts, soybeans, rice, & vegetable production and value chain management.

From inception we started with 250kgs of soybean seeds that was given to the first 5groups of farmers that we registered. On average each managed to harvest 500kgs totaling to 5000kgs of soybean seeds. These were sold at the rate of 2000/= per kg as seeds hence making a total sale of UGX10,000,000/=. Less operation cost each farmer made net profits of UGX800,000 thus totaling to UGX4,000,000/=

From the 5000kgs soybean seeds, we managed to recruit an additional 40 groups that got these seeds for 5 acres each. Thus, a total of 200 acres were planted and 100,000kgs of soybeans was realized by end of 2022. The produce was sold and the farmers realized 150,000,000 in total and the company earned a commission of UGX15,000,000/= from the sales.

We target to recruit , register and empower more 65 groups by ended of 2023

About Us

Kango Pride Farmers Ltd is an Agribusiness company that supports rural women and youth in Agriculture and Small Businesses through microfinance support and Agribusiness.This is effected through;
1) Product financing to promote Financial inclusion for the less privileged like rural women and youth.
2) Training in Financial literacy ,agronomic practices and business development to promote gaining of knowledge and skills.
3) Agro processing/Value Addition to address post harvest challenges faced by the farmers.
4) Extension support services like Market linkages to eliminate exploitation by middle men and enhance value addition/agro processing and management information systems to promote transparency and accountability through data management and record keeping.
The ultimate goal is to enhance job creation opportunities, increase in income levels in the rural communities, increase in food security in communities and environmental sustainability.
